History
Established in 1968 as a 27-bed district hospital, Redbud Community Hospital
added an Intensive Care Unit in 1983.
It was purchased by Adventist Health in 1997 for $6.5 million, with the
obligation to maintain and operate it as an acute care hospital including basic
emergency and perinatal services. In 2003, the Redbud Family Medical Clinic broke ground.
In 2005, the hospital became a 25-bed critical access hospital enabling better
funding for operations and capital spending. In 2007, the Hidden Valley Lake Medical
Offices opened. In addition, the infrastructure work was begun to prepare for
expansion of the emergency department. Construction is slated to begin in summer
of 2008. Redbud Community Hospital continues to
expand and improve operations on an ongoing basis.
